One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA) Ethiopia OHW project, represented by Dr. Berihun Afera, Focal Person from Mekelle University, attended a consultative workshop of various EPT stakeholders including government officials. The workshop was led by State Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Dr. Misrak at Addis Ababa, FAO Meeting Hall.
The first workshop was held May 17-18, 2016 with the objectives of discussing the FAO Emergency Control for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) plan for May-September 2016 focusing on EBOLA and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome of camels (MERS) and looking for possible areas of collaboration. The second workshop held on August 2-3, 2016 was an orientation on the Emerging Pandemic Threats 2 (EPT 2) Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework. Various stakeholders in the country convened for the two-day meeting to discuss Monitoring and Evaluation System for projects and programs under the EPT 2 program. Finally, areas of collaboration among the different stakeholders were identified and agreed on.
