Uganda is a landlocked East African country with abundant wildlife. in 2018 it was the most physically active nation in the world, according to WHO. Uganda also has one of the lowest life expectancy at birth in East Africa, only 58 years.
AFROHUN Uganda creates awareness and appreciation on the need for multisectoral and multidisciplinary collaboration, both in teaching and responding to infectious disease outbreaks in the country. Recently, Uganda started developing a One Health strategic plan that promotes student experiential learning and training of students who can, as an aggregate workforce, meet IHR and OIE PVS international standards.
