The Minister warmly welcomed this innovative approach, which integrates human, animal, and environmental health. He acknowledged the potential for impactful collaboration between the Ministry and AFROHUN, particularly in advancing the implementation and awareness of the “One Health” concept across universities. This partnership is expected to foster a new era of interdisciplinary research, positioning universities as key players in health and sustainability.

This initiative, which bridges the gap between veterinary science, public health, and environmental management, is already being implemented through workshops, research programs, and outreach activities. The collaboration is a success in its early stages, setting the foundation for broader academic and scientific involvement that will yield long-term benefits for public health systems and environmental protection.

Through this partnership, AFROHUN and the Ministry of Higher Education are taking practical steps towards a healthier and more sustainable future. The Minister suggest to amplify SOHIC’s activities and made them nationwide through national competitive activities. The Minister has also appointed two focal points from his office for One Health activities in the Universities and strongly suggested to work on a signed agreement between AFROHUN and the MESRI.
